Volunteer ‘angels’ reach out to those in need on the freezing streets of Windsor

On one of the coldest nights in our region this winter season, two “angels” stood outside the Downtown Mission Tuesday evening handing out socks and gloves and blankets to those in need. Anna Iacoboni and Kerri Stephenson distributed the donated items from the back of a minivan to a lineup of people gathered in below freezing temperatures in the mission’s parking lot. But it wasn’t just warm clothing they were sharing, there were plenty of smiles, lots of conversation and a great deal of compassion given to the men and women who stopped by. Iacoboni and Stephenson work by day as personal support workers with the St. Elizabeth Foundation. But for the last 10 years, they’ve volunteered their time over the winter months to reach out to vulnerable people on Windsor’s streets. Please visit the Windsor Star for the full article.
